Scientists are developing a bionic eye to see and to touch gloves smart and intelligent belt to guide and assist the blind and visually impaired in daily life
1 - the development of a bionic eye to help the blind to see again
A team of Australian researchers belonging to the University of Monash Baatkar electronic eye may bring hope to thousands of blind people to see again.
And this technology lies in the development of a bionic eye with small slices planted in different parts of the brain and each one containing 43 pole electrically stimulate the brain via the received signals to create points of light, such as that used by the real eye.
The new technique relies on glasses digital camera and sensors to the eye movement and the digital processor and the wireless transmitter, and can create a visual image size of 500 pixels, while the normal human eye can create a clear picture of the size of 1 to 2 million pixels.
2 - smart gloves to help blind people in shopping
Smart gloves were developed by researchers at Pennsylvania State can help the blind to shopping in stores and discover anything be touched through the glove.
And this idea came because of that blind people to have difficulty finding what they want on the shelves in the grocery stores or supermarkets.
These gloves depends on the target barcode which is based on goods and scanned it and then give an alert to the user Glove about this item that is in his hand, and so are helping in the search and find the information they want.
3 - the development of intelligent belt to guide blind people through vibrations
Devised a German company called FeelSpace develop intelligent belt can help blind and visually impaired to direct them to any place they want to go to him.
The company has introduced a model of intelligent belt in the Falling Walls Lab Conference, which was held in Berlin and works through the application of the belt coincides with navigation and mapping applications on mobile phones via Bluetooth and doing a vibration to the user to guide him the right way.
The company plans to launch a funding campaign to get enough money to complete its work and produce the best smart belts.
4 - rings Finger Reader to help the blind to read books
Scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on the development of a device called Finger Reader worn on the index finger to people who have low vision
Finger Reader device is worn like a ring in the user's finger, with a small camera scans the text through optical tracking the movement of the finger and then read the words aloud, and can quickly translate the writing.
